Short (100 words)

Phoebe Leong (b. 2000) is a multimedia composer, pianist, collaborator and artist, who has been composing and playing piano since young. She is experienced in composing instrumental and electronic music, has participated in multiple national and international competitions, and organized numerous arts events such as festivals and concerts.  Her work blends elements of lived experience and memory with a touch of whimsical humor. She graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Music Composition in 2023 and her Master of Music in Music Composition in 2025.

Phoebe Leong (b. 2000) is a multimedia composer, pianist, collaborator and artist, who has been composing and playing piano since the age of five with East Valley Yamaha Music School. She is experienced in composing instrumental and electronic music. She has won awards for the Yamaha Junior Original Composition Concert (2010, 2011), the Golden Key International Composition Competition (2012, 2016), had a piece commissioned and premiered at the PRISMs New Music Festival (Tempe, AZ, 2021), and was the resident composer for the ASU Philharmonia from 2023-24. She was also a collaborator within the DBR Lab from 2024-25, and co-founded the Art Amplified Festival which is held annually in Tempe, Arizona. She graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Music Composition in May 2023 and her Master of Music in Music Composition in 2025.

​Phoebe is a co-founder of Canyon Echo Collective, and currently the keyboardist for Sunshine and Violence! and a keyboard instructor at School of Rock Arcadia and Queen Creek. During her time at ASU, she was the president of several student organizations. She has also performed with the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) in 2023 and written music for the Arizona Women’s Collaborative in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Phoebe has studied piano with Heidi Grimes, Tomoko Yonemaru, Christina Tan and Caio Pagano, and composition with Tomoko Yonemaru, Christina Tan, Kelly Tang, Dirk Stromberg, Keith Fitch, Jody Rockmaker, Alex Temple, Fernanda Navarro, Garth Paine and Gabriel Bolaños.

​Phoebe is a co-founder of Canyon Echo Collective, and currently the keyboardist for Sunshine and Violence! and a keyboard instructor at School of Rock Arcadia and Queen Creek. During her time at ASU, she was the president of several student organizations, including the student chapter of Society of Composers, inc., Collaborative Project Club, Valley Wesley at ASU, and Anglican Campus Fellowship. She has also performed with the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) in 2023, written music for the Arizona Women’s Collaborative in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and had numerous collaborations as a keyboardist with local performing groups.
